Quest University Canada – Services Building

Squamish, BC

Architects: Hotson Bakker Boniface Haden Architects (Andrew Larigakis role was as Project Architect for HBBH. He was  involved from the early design phase through to completion of construction).

The University Services Building is a 31,000 square foot facility open year-round to students and the public selling a diverse range of food, beverages and convenience items. With its extensive kitchen, the Services Building provides a range of food types to an international student body. Glazed garage doors on two sides open the dining hall to the large exterior patio in good weather where one has a spectacular views of the nearby mountains and glaciers. Below the dining space is a large multi-purpose room that is used as a community gathering place for lectures, performances and films.

Like the Academic Building opposite the University Services building uses the steeply sloping site to advantage providing connections to both cultivated and wild landscape at multiple levels.
